Having read the one other review I was a bit reluctant to purchase this book. However, whilst you do come across some poorly written sentences the book itself is actually pretty useful. As a developer I have used WCF Services and to a large part I had copied others not really understanding what was really going on and why certain attributes/configurations were used. Well the fog has lifted. A read through this book has cleared all that up. I found the book well laid out, clear and concise. It's not too much of a brick and I found it pitched at just the right level.

I did read the reviews before I actually purchased this book. I am a seasoned, certified .NET developer. I have also written articles in various publications and have been an editor at times.

With this background, I have the following observations.

This is my first WCF book. This book is well organized and presents concepts at an appropriate level for me. The case studies are very practical, hands-on exercises which help reinforce concepts presented earlier in the book.

However, at the really detailed level, the book is poorly written/edited. The sheer volume of awkwardly worded sentences, grammatical errors, and typos is amazing. In addition, there are enough errors/omissions in the hands-on exercises that you really need to be on your toes as a developer to make these exercises work.

I've been a software developer for many years by utitlizing various technologies, such as .net, java.
This book allowed me a swift achievement of my goals,lowering the WCF learning curve, although I had never utilized such technology before.
Moreover, it allowed me to get to a new extremely productive viewpoint by providing me with good suggestions on how to do things and the best practises to improve developing processes.
I suggest to all those people who have years of experience behind them with .NET framework to buy this book.
