Recently used this batter dispenser at our Church Pancake Breakfast and it worked well. Here are some PROS and CONS to keep in mind:
1. Holds enough batter that you don't have to keep refilling in the middle of a batch of pancakes.
2. Creates a fairly uniform size of pancake and is adjustable.
3. Lightweight and easy to use.
4. Easy to disassemble for cleaning.

1. It doesn't dispense batter evenly when the hopper is about 1/4 full.
2. If you squeeze the handle too hard, it actually shoots the batter forward and not directly down.

Doesn't matter how you look at it, it's better than pouring from a pitcher or using a ladle.

Do not buy. This product broke after only being used twice. And with a very thin batter. It will not work for batters that have anything in them such as blueberries. Save your money and use a scoop.

Use it quick! May 16 2011

If you like your batter runny it works fine. If you let it sit ten minutes and come back and the batter has had a chance to thicken up as it always does, it takes forever to get the batter to drop out and you've got to set the control full open to get any decent sized pancake. Not worth the investment!

Hated it March 12 2011

I had to return this. I don't normally do that very often but it is really bad. It does dispense batter but after the first few times, it takes forever for the bladder thing to fill up again. It makes an awful sound when it dispenses and it is a real hassle to put together after washing. I tried it 4 times with various batters so I think I gave it enough chances.

You have to actually mix the batter in a separate container. This one will leak your liquid ingredients (and yes, I had the button set to fully closed). It does come apart easily for fast and stress free cleaning. I have washed it in my dishwasher on the top rack several times now without incident.

Pro: easy to clean, comes apart and reassembles easily. Makes for easy clean dispensing.

cons: can't use it to really mix with, it will leak liquid (like milk and water, no issues with eggs) ingredients even when fully set to closed.

I wish I had gone with the metal one, at least it was smaller.

Bought two of these - NOT happy! - Would NOT buy these! April 5 2012

I bought two of these and they did NOT last! After the second use the batter squeezed out the sides when being used - after the fifth use the cheap plastic construction of the handle cracked and broke off. The same thing happened on each of these dispensers. I was very disapointed with these, don't be fooled by the nice ad video. THEY ARE JUNK!

I bought this item a while ago. I used it once, and it was "okay." Like everyone said in their reviews, it's not real sturdy. It's hard to use with thicker batters, etc. Still had some redeeming value, as it worked for filling cupcake pans without getting batter all over the place. But then I forgot about it. I got it out to use it the other day, and at first thought I must have never used it before because it "sucked." I had to squeeze the handle so hard to get anything out that by the time I filled one pan of cupcakes, my arm was aching. So I make my cupcakes, and then I go to clean the thing. It's all clean, inside and out, and for whatever reason I squeezed the handle. Some chocolate cupcake batter oozed out. Again, I cleaned it up inside and out then squeezed the handle. More cupcake batter. What the heck?! Well, I just found out the hard way that there is an intermediate "hidden" compartment between the bottom of the inside, and the outside of the bowl. YOU MUST TAKE IT APART FULLY TO CLEAN IT. Well, I don't recall this being in the instructions, and the first time I used it I just washed it in soapy water and put it away. That was at least a few months ago, if not a year. So back to now - I finally figured out it had to be taken apart, and needless to say there was - I kid you not - unspeakable evil residing in the hidden compartment for god knows how long, since I didn't clean it right when I used it. This must have also been why it was so hard to squeeze the batter out, because whatever was in there had petrified/hardened over time. There is more to this story but I can't share because it would end up sounding a lot like the jokey reviews of the sugar-free gummy bears that people were posting for a while. Seriously. SO, bottom line, I would have given this a higher rating if it didn't have the hidden compartment issue, but not a 5 and probably not a 4 either.
