If you love The Anomalyby DJ Logic as much as I do, this album will take just the slightest adjustment on your part, and I am not using that "slightest" with the least bit of irony or sarcasim
It is just that where The Anomaly grabs you with its over the top funk and bogaloo, Project Logic is just a little more cerebral. The funky hooks and the dancable qualities are still here, and truth be told, are readily evident. But Logic uses more avant gaurde ideas--spoken work, tracks digitally caving in, found sounds, that make the rump shaking elements more covert.
But the conception is excellent, non-pretenious and the playing is as top flight as ever. In a way, this is the deeper of the albums. This compells you to sit and listen where The Anomaly makes you dance before you deconstruct it.
If I had to pick one, I would probably go with the Anomaly, but I would pick the White Album over Abbey Road, too. It does not mean you do not need to hear both.
Same applies here.

In the beginning there was beats and lyrics. Then came the turntabalism... Dj logic has helped to redefine a new level of mixing, creating and sampling that parallels a dj shadow or dj krush, however, he brings about an east coast, urban city flavor that none to this day have felt or heard so completly. Hearing Dj Logic in person is a must just as is hearing the ROOTS in concert and I must beg of Dj Logic to come back to slo.

so, the turntable has arrived, and its most melodic and gifted of mercurial messengers is none other than dj logic. this album is crazy. what logic is doing for music, the turntable and the future is powerful, jamming and intelligent. only logical.
