Heavy slogging,
This review is from: Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling (Hardcover)
This book was so erudite that it became nearly impossible to read. The approach is highly theoretical making it difficult to apply the concepts in an actual project management context. We have read several books now in an effort to achieve a project management designation, but this was the poorest book we've read so far.I would advise against reading this if you are trying to learn the fundamentals, but if you prefer heavy and theoretical exposition, then this book is for you.

Solid book covering the basics of project management. Kernzers is the goal standard for graduate level PM courses. Some integration of PMBoK information, but I do not think it would be good reference for the PMP test.

This review is from: Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling (Hardcover)
For someone new to this field of study, I found this book very insightful and easy to understand. I will keep this and the PMBOK resource manual handy in my office.

Good both with extensive coverage but not for passing the PMP exam,
By Ranjan Chari "Ranjan Chari" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Project Management: A Systems Approach to Planning, Scheduling, and Controlling (Hardcover)
This book should be read as an overview to the project management body of knowledge and also as an overview of project management. For passing the PMP exam, this is not a suitable book. A good book for all project management professionals in general.
