I used this Joseph Phillips CAPM/PMP preparation book for my CAPM exam and passed with ease. The information in the book is outlined in a way that promotes progressive learning chapter by chapter by presenting the information, lifting out the most important parts and then re-inforcing them through well selected practice questions. The video element on the attached CD also offers a great intro to the chapter.

I would advise anyone preparing to write either the PMP or the CAPM to get this book as I have seen many of the books on the market and this is by far the most user friendly and well thought out learning aid that I have come across.

I haven't passed the exam yet, but this book is great so far! Before purchasing it, I started reading the PMBOK and found it really hard to study because it is boring and very few examples are given. Then I got this exam guide and now I enjoy studying. The first chapter tells you about the exam you're taking; there is a section about the PMP and one about the CAPM. The author is very witty and funny. There are much more examples than in the PMBOK and there is a list at the end of the book that recaps what you have to study for your exam. Also there are practice questions at the end of every chapter, and there are full practice exams on the CD that comes with it.

Excellent book, I recommend it for the CAPM.

This book is an excellent preparation guide to CAPM or PMP. It is a safe alternative to PMBOK (aka sleeping pill). The end of chapters 20 questions are great to keep you on track and measure your performance. The CD contains 3 sets of exams as well. I would highly recommend this book for PMI exams.
