Product Description

Review

"The approach of this book is commendable in terms of coverage, content, and appealing to the teaching and learning. Certainly, it will enhance students in achieving the learning outcomes and objectives of the Public Speaking course particularly the ability to communicate effectively in public, interpersonal, organizational and other real life situations in the global world."

"The integration of the various technology resources is very laudable. As an advocate for the application of technology in higher education, I find the resources for the text very useful, current, and appealing."

"I like the (technology) integration very much. It reinforces the text material and give students an active way of learning in a new media world."

"(The authors) recognize that ever-evolving technologies affect the way students learn and the approach that students take to their course work. Students are not content to sit and read a textbook; they want the material to be interactive. The inclusion of interactive methods of learning sets this textbook apart from the rest."

Great Learning Experience on Speeches Feb. 6 2013
By Nina - Published on Amazon.com

The book is very informative on how to speak in public. It gives direction, recommendations, and technique. Even if you do not take a class in college about speech, this book guides you toward understanding how to speak publicly.

A LONG DRAWN OUT BOOK WITH TOO MUCH TO READ Feb. 1 2013
By Cheryl Brown - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
The book was alright but there was too much information in the chapters which made it hard to keep up with and remember it all. The book served it purpose and I passed the class with a good grade.

Love this book Oct. 17 2012
By gdaddy - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
I completely disagree this is a "left wing" text. Very well written. It also is a good price. One of Palin's speeches is used as an example.

Okay book Sept. 9 2012
By Bob - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback Verified Purchase
This book is okay. I don't know if it's too simple, but I find most of the information useless since most of what is written in the book fairly obvious. It might be useful to someone who isn't used to speaking in front of groups, but it's just not for me. I only purchased the book for my class, but after reading the first three chapters, I find it hardly useful.
