What the f*** happened to these guys?!??!!!, Jun 5 2004
This review is from: Punk Statik Paranoia (Audio CD)
Uh... after listening to this CD I realized that urinating on an electric fence would be more entertaining and enjoyable than to waste my time hearing this garbage again. I used to LOVE Orgy, Candyass is still well before it's time. Vapor Transmission was aight, but it still fell short of the pedestal Candyass resides on. But this album... damn it sucks. I mean WTF!!!
Either Jay has completely lost his edge and turned into a sorry ass or else he was just really really drunk and strung out when he wrote and recorded these songs. The guitars and drums aren't all that bad, but I can't get past these lyrics and the horrible attempt at hardcore yelling and screaming. Just not the style that built the fanbase they have obviously deserted.
Jay... you may now piss off.

A little too much rock, July 19 2004
This review is from: Punk Statik Paranoia (Audio CD)
When this album came out three years after VT I thought it would be astounding. But I was kinda dissapointed in it. The voices don't sound the same as they did in the previous aldums of theirs. There is more screaming and slamming guitars. The soong that I thought were the best are: Pure, The obvious, Make up your mind, and Ashamed. These songs captured orgy in sould but not in voice. It just sounded different. But it was a great album. Definately worth your money.

Horrible, July 16 2004
This review is from: Punk Statik Paranoia (Audio CD)
Probably one of the biggest Orgy fans... I was disgusted by this album. I saw the band 2 times and was floored every time they played. I have played Candyass and Vapor Transmission, especially the latter, so much.
I neatly filed this album into the "don't listen" category after about 10 tries. It is just that bad and I have never written a really bad review of an album!
There is nothing here that stands out in my opinion. I loved this band for their laser carved groove. This album reminds me of a high school band playing their first songs ever. There is a lot of choppy guitar, very little synth guitar (an Orgy staple) and no "neon rhythm," what happened!
Granted, bands change, but there is nothing here that is original or even listenable. Nothing fits together and there is no melody or good lyrics. I am very happy that Jay and company are better off now.... I know they have so much more talent than this, though.
For the newbie:
1. Vapor Transmission (outstanding)
2. Candyass (solid album)
3. Punk Statik Paranoia (see aforementioned comments).
