Product Description

From Amazon.com

If it wasn't for the revolutionary artwork, it would be easy to suspect that the Chemical Brothers were parodying their roles as electronic musicians with that album title. After all, people have accused the genre of sounding redundant for years. But while contemporaries like the Prodigy and Fatboy Slim fall by the wayside, on their fifth studio album Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons sound positively reinvigorated, as the dreamy textures of 2002's Come With Us give way to a set of sharper, more focused songs, from the politically charged "Left Right" to the wide-screen "Close Your Eyes." It's epic stuff, particularly when A Tribe Called Quest rapper Q-Tip magically appears to give lead-off track "Galvanize" a vintage hip-hop kick. But because this is as much about the future as the past, the British duo also recruits Kele Okereke of underground punk-funk stars Bloc Party and the London vocal group The Magic Numbers to help push things forward. --Aidin Vaziri

1.0 out of 5 stars Where is the warning label for Copy Control Disc?, Mar 24 2005
This review is from: Push The Button (Audio CD)
How would I rate this album? I can't tell because I can't listen to it.

Copy Control technology -- look it up on the net -- they can not even technically call this a Compact Disc as it does not adhere to the format standards. I think Amazon.ca should be required to notify people that the album they are selling features this technology and will not play on your computer (without adding their software), nor can you get it onto your ipod.

Letters to EMI have gone unanswered so this is how I will show my displeasure -- I will not buy another EMI Canada disc so long as they use this technology. I'd rather eat the import premiums than give them another penny. Coldplay, Ben Harper, Chemical Bros

5.0 out of 5 stars Fresh and different!, July 12 2006

I was pleasantly surprised by CB`s new album; as I thought they were becoming quite redundant in their style, here`s a breath of fresh air. We could feel the energy sporing out of their late tunes, but they could become heavy and repetitive; I could only listen to the previous albums only once every now and then. This album is plain and simply light and fun. Just makes you wanna jump up and dance, I could listen to it time and time again!

5.0 out of 5 stars Back And As Good As Ever, Oct 1 2005

GOOSE Stuart (Nova Scotia, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Push The Button (Audio CD)
I was blown away when I found out that the Chemical Brothers were comming out with a new album. This album is absolutely amazing (ok, its not perfect, there is one track im not a HUGE fan of). people are becoming too stuck in their little bounderies of what they can call dance music, some dance music fans hate anything that isnt 4 on the floor straight beat, nearly trance music (not that there is anything wrong with trance). remember, rap and techno(electronica for some) have very close roots so its not hard to tell why there are some rappers making a couple of appearances here. there is no doubting, this IS a chemical brothers album, its has that sound, that feeling, those beats that you know arent just some guy going "1,2,3,4, add another element...." this is different than that and the album is better for it. if you like electronic music( and i mean all different facets, techno, trip-hop, downbeat, moby-esqe stuff) you should go out and get this album immediately.
