Good power for price. Oct. 22 2010

I purchased this for an audio solution in the classroom. Budget was key and I was looking for an amp with multiple inputs. This amp was great. The amp produces good power and is very straight forward for anyone to use. I paired it with Sony speakers (SSB-1000) and it fills the room with good sound. The multiple inputs allow you to plug in DVD, VCR, iPod and Computer without have to switch things around constantly. Haven't tried the mic inputs yet.

Power to spare April 21 2011

While I am not using this amp to power big speakers, it has remarkable ability to fill a large space with great sound. When I also factor in the warehouse price of about $40.00 it is amazing. I could not be more pleased. I am running two sets of speakers and while it would have been great to have connection ports for both sets, it is really not a problem to twist the wire ends together to run both sets of speakers in the existing ports for just one set. A minor quibble. There are 4 ports for connecting DVD/CD and 3 other devices. However this has no preamp so a turntable is not really possible. But, not many people use vinyl anymore. A real bargain at Amazon's (used like new) warehouse price and still a bargain at the new item retail price: about $20.00 more. If you need a fine little amp for an extra listening place, it would be difficult to beat the price and quality.

MINI AMP May 19 2010
By Douglas - Published on Amazon.com

The blue power light is too bright (I opened the unit and unplugged it from the board) The unit has a grounded plug and a slight AC hum (I used a cheater adapter to convert it to a standard plug and this greatly reduced the hum). It also has the volume on the left side instead of the normal right location. All in all I am satisfied considering the price but would not recommend it without those considerations being understood.

Good for Background Listening - Not as a Primary Music Source March 28 2014
By WLT - Published on Amazon.com

I bought this for a patio. It is a cheaply made amp, that has low level background hum. The selector knob does not line up or match the selection of device source markings very well, but that's a minor issue.

As an amp for background music, it certainly does the job, but if you are intending to use this as a primary music source, you may be disappointed.

The amp will give you about 12 watts per channel with fairly low distortion, so as a background music source, or as a TV sound amp, it will be fine. You'd also probably be happy hooking up an iPod or phone to this amp as well.

I don't do Karaoke, but I imagine it would be fine for this purpose in the home or as a novelty at an office party, but not in a commercial setting. It does not have enough power and the Hum is an issue.

Bottom line, if I had paid full price, I would have sent it back. For the deep discount offered on Amazon, it will work for my needs as a background music source for my Patio.

As mentioned by other users, the blue LED is incredibly bright! It will bother some people. It bothered me. I finally realized it was so bright, I could put a piece of black Electrical Tape over it and STILL see it. I cut a round disc out of Electrical Tape and made it look nice and professional. As I stated, it's so bright that it STILL shines through the black Electrical Tape! But the tape cuts the brightness down by about 70 percent. If that's still to bright for you, you could put two pieces over it. Simple cure. I like having the LED because it shows power on so I do not forget to turn it off. It just needs to be dimmed by about 70 or 80 percent.
Great little Amplifier Dec 20 2014
By POLS Geri - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased one of these for a very specific dedicated use, as part of an audio system for my backyard big screen film showings. I like the compact size and the ability to use multiple sources. Also, since it has listed ratings at both 4 and 8 ohms I assumed it would work well driving my two pair of efficient 8ohm speakers (combined in parallel to produce 4ohm impedance at each channel). Using this speaker configuration and a laptop or dvd player as sources this little amp has performed flawlessly with more than adequate power for my application. I should note that I show my films on a 16'x9' screen in an area that is somewhat contained on three sides by the exterior walls of my home and an adjacent structure. In a very open area I am not sure the power would be adequate. I plan to permanently secure this unit in a small portable custom case I have built that doubles as a stand for my projector and some other electronics. The open back of this case seems to allow plenty of airflow and I didn't observe any excessive or exceptional heat from the little amp at 1/2 to 2/3 of the available volume.

I did note that some other reviewers mentioned a hum in the units they received so when putting my amp through its paces I listened very carefully both in testing and use. I have not observed even a hint of this problem or any of the issues encountered by some of the other reviewers. All of the sources I own have analog output options, but some people might be disappointed by the absence of a digital input option on this amplifier. Finally, I am not that fond of the pinch spring type of speaker wire connectors on this amplifier for use with a system that gets repeatedly assembled and disassembled, but to find the better quality post type connectors at this price point is probably too much to ask. I will probably build a little break-out box with more robust connectors for both inputs and outputs.
