5.0 out of 5 stars Great Record Player, Interesting Software Nov 10 2011

I ordered this turntable because I wanted an authentic looking device on which to play records. When I bought it, it worked for a few days and then quit working. However, I contacted amazon and I received a new turntable within a week (and I didn't have to pay shipping on it or pay shipping to return the broken one). It has been working constantly for the last three months and sound great! Also, it has the option to convert records to mp3 files. If you are hoping to convert the records in this way, make sure you have a computer that can play mini-cd's because the software for converting the records is on a mini-cd.

1.0 out of 5 stars Unprofessional company, sloppy and cheap turntable. Mar 26 2012

I received this product only to be immediately disappointed with its performance and the "customer service" behind it. This turntable should probably be $20-$30 less than it's already priced. The platter wobble is so intense that the needle is constantly skipping. Adjusting the screw at the top right does NOTHING. Nothing at all. No matter how much I adjust this screw, the problem continues. Nothing changes in the slightest bit. I can't listen to a record all the way through without the needle skipping randomly because of the intensity of the wobble. I tried taking apart the turntable and tightening all the screws inside and still no fix. The platter is a very cheap cheap plastic. Like Toys R Us product plastic. I emailed the company asking for advice and how to go about fixing this problem. I stated that I tried adjusting the screw to help fix the problem and that it didn't work one bit. The email back was pathetic. The grammar was awful and the email made no sense with no proper instructions.

Interpret the email yourself...

ME:

HI,

I just received my PVNTT1 Classic Retro USB Phonograph/Turntable today and I am having the problem of the platter being too wobbly. It causes the records the needle to miss the record at certain points and skip. I tried adjusting the screw from tight to loose and had no success. I'm a little worried about taking it apart and not sure how to take off the Iron binder that keeps the platter attached. How can I fix this problem? The turntable is Brand new.

Thanks

THEM:

There is a platter adjustment screw in the upper right corner that will assist in correcting the skipping but it will only reduce the wobble it will still be present, but not affect the audio performance.

-----------------------------------
I clearly indicated that my audio performance was suffering and they offered 0 besides stating that the audio performance won't be fixed. How about a new record player?

Don't bother with this company.

I didn't expect much for a cheap record player, but it works quite well. Nothing special though. My only problem is that the tonearm seems temperamental. It won't always return to the dock after playing a record.
