Deep down, I think most women have had an unrequited love, one of those "I wonder if..." `almost relationships'. Call them a crush, call them puppy love, the effect remains the same and remains all the more poignant for the fact that we'll never know.
For Chantal Goodwin, Cameron Quade is that schoolgirl crush. Except she is anything but a schoolgirl now. Strong, self-assured and a dynamic lawyer she has to face her feelings and her fears when Quade comes home.
While, in essence, this is a reunion story, Ms Jameson uses her well-honed skills to weave tension and romance into a spellbinding story. Oh, and did I mention `tension'? Watching the development, denial and finally capitulation between these two powerfully attracted people was a genuine pleasure. This story has been crafted to satisfy readers from any walk of life and it is clear that Ms Jameson's talent only grows more compelling with each book. As an unashamed fan of her writing style it was also a joy to revisit, however briefly, the two key characters from Zane: The Wild One (Silhouette Desire 1452 July 2002), and to appreciate the continuity this brought. I'm sure I'm not alone in looking forward to the next story from the town of Plenty.

Chantal Goodwin is all business. Cameron Quade has left business behind along with a too-dedicated-to-the-job fiancee. Can he find happiness with another woman bent on climbing the corporate ladder? Or can he persuade her to stop and smell the roses and maybe accept the love he has to offer? Quade is a quick and easy read and is hard to put down. It is such a fun book with lots of clever dialogue and sexy banter and innuendo. I loved the opening scene with the black satin sheets and Chantal's comment to her sister's answering machine. I just adore a good "awwwwwww" ending and this story had it in spades.
