True to the roots of ska Dec 22 2006
Format:Audio CD
The Slackers are a breath of fresh air. Their music is original and invokes the warmth and good-naturedness that, in my mind, is central to ska music. Thisis an absolutely fantastic album and would serve as a great introduction to what ska can be (should be?) when done well. Highly recommended.

The Slacker's best album yet Aug 30 2000
By A Customer
Format:Audio CD
It's been common knowledge for some time now that Vic Ruggerio is the best song writer on the ska scene today. Possibly, he was the "Third Wave's" greatest voice, the nineties answer to Don Drummond, Jackie Mittoo and Mike Barson. Now that ska music has lost it's time in the spotlight, and is quickly losing a lot of it's fans to other genres of music, it's important to have a group like the Slackers who still have a passion for playing ska music and playing it well. I guess the "Third Wave" is over, if you believe in all that labeling stuff to begin with. The Blue Meanies' new album has been pinned "Post-Wave" by record execs. This spotlights the Slacker's importance. They are still playing ska music the right way. Get this album.

who's that girl?
the album is by far the best ever from the slackers. with a little under 70 minutes, your time is filled with old school classic ska. my question is who is that girl on the cover?

Brilliant music.
The Slackers are truly a gift from the Ska gods! They mimic but do not copy the orignal Jamaican ska sound, and this album is particularly haunting and creative. This is real ska. Read more

This is by far The Slackers most sophisticated album. They combine simple yet powerful aspects of songwriting into their familiar blend of old and new styles of rocksteady. Read more
