It's been common knowledge for some time now that Vic Ruggerio is the best song writer on the ska scene today. Possibly, he was the "Third Wave's" greatest voice, the nineties answer to Don Drummond, Jackie Mittoo and Mike Barson. Now that ska music has lost it's time in the spotlight, and is quickly losing a lot of it's fans to other genres of music, it's important to have a group like the Slackers who still have a passion for playing ska music and playing it well. I guess the "Third Wave" is over, if you believe in all that labeling stuff to begin with. The Blue Meanies' new album has been pinned "Post-Wave" by record execs. This spotlights the Slacker's importance. They are still playing ska music the right way. Get this album.
