Joyce Becker knows her stuff and presents it in a clear, consise manner with excellent examples. Her step-by-step instructions are accurate and to the point, giving enough information without over-loading the reader/quilter. She begins with finding inspiration, and continues with twenty-four techniques, including tulle overlays, Angelina fibers, machine embroidery, and much more. "Little" describes her quilts, as several are only 5" x 7" before they are matted and framed. This book is not only a how-to, but a reference for quilters of larger quilts.

I fell in love with this landscape "how to". Good information and ideas. I can hardly wait to get started using and enjoying these creative projects. I get to go shopping for more paints, save dryer lint and fabric sheets and make things happen. I must go now!!!!!!!

The quick little landscape quilts featured in this book don't look quick but Joyce breaks down the process into simple, easy to understand steps. She does a great job of explaining each step such as finding inspiration, choosing fabric, adding embellishments and finishing techniques. Most of little landscapes in the book were designed and fused onto fast2fuse, a stiff interfacing, stitched and embellished and then matted and framed. I love how Joyce shows how to add overlays by using dryer lint, tulle, organza and Angelina fibers. If you can't come up with your own design there are several step-by-step projects to get you started. These little landscapes would make wonderful gifts. I can also see making a series of them to capture a favorite vacation spot. A great book for beginners as well as more experienced landscape quilters.
