Only 2 minor issues July 31 2010

Overall this is a good home theater system for the price. If you use the HDMI output, the picture quality is excellent. The sound quality is pretty good, but obviously if you want the best sound possible you will be a little disappointed. So if you want a decent home theater for DVDs and you don't want to spend a lot of money, I would say this is a great option.

The two minor issues I found with it were:

1) By default it uses DVS audio, but I found that this made it very difficult to hear dialog so I switched to stereo audio

2) There is limited input options for the theater system. Even a single HDMI in would have been nice to have on it.

RCA Stinks April 20 2013
By Tally32308 - Published on Amazon.com
Unit stopped working after months of use.
Now when I turn the unit on, it will have power but no buttons on the remote or the unit will work.
have to unplug several times before it will start working, then the DVDs will freeze and I have to repeat the steps all over again.
I had the same issue with an RCA stereo several years ago and decided to give RCA another chance.
So much for that.
I am online looking for a replacement sound bar that isn't made by RCA!!!!

We bought our camper and it came with this RCA Home Theater system(upgrade for $1000.00): the first one stopped playing and freezes the DVD/CD's this was when it was NEW just started using it. We got it replaced and had the camper put away for the winter and this summer got camper out and thought we would be fine we had it replaced NOT the new replaced model is now skipping and cleaning it did not work.. NOW OUT OF WARRANTY they will NOT replace it!!!! SO, I am NOT buying a new one,I am going to find another model to put in its place.... NOT HAPPY WITH RCA AT ALL!!! VERY DISAPPOINTING..

I thought I would give RCA another chance because I've had 0 luck with them in the past,My wife got this for my birthday last year early Jan. 2011. A little over a year later it is having problems, not playing discs, unit turns on but no sound and the remote or power button on the unit will not turn off the unit, you have to unplug it. It takes about 3 or 4 times of turning on and unpluging it before the sound comes on. My sugestion is look at something Sony or Samsung if you want it to last. Stay away from Phillips, Magnavox, and RCA they WILL disappiont you.
