This stick is easy to install, but it's not really worth the money. It's stiff and tends to not work good when pushing some directions sometimes. Pushing full way acts like it's barely pushed. It takes a hard thrust for it to work properly at times.

This was for a friend of mine who was looking to repair his analog stick. Very good price, fast shipping and great product.

It works . . and it doesn't. Feb. 26 2011

My PSP Joystick became "stuck" a few months ago and the characters would move on their own without me touching the joystick (which apparently is pretty common). I thought this was a pretty decent price for a replacement part, many forums I read said a replacement would be under five dollars. Being impatient, I express ordered this item and it still took almost a week to receive it. Upon getting the product I was more than pleasantly surprised that the screwdriver not only fit those tiny screws -perfectly- but it was also magnetized; a great help since I had lost one of the screws in the PSP when I first took mine apart. Here's where the second problem took place though: the replacement joystick was actually worse than the original. I had almost no control in the game, the character would run "away from the screen" and when I moved the joystick and let go, they would resume moving forward at the running pace. I tried tweaking how tight the screws holding the joystick was and it helped gain control but the character was not able to move at full speed and the plastic threads you feed the screw into to hold the joystick became stripped as a result. Long story short: I need a new PSP. Two stars because I got a free screwdriver that works well even though the product itself does not work.

Same problem I had with orginal Feb. 17 2014

This was to be a replacement part but it didn't work. After looking for alternatives I found that using a pencil on the chip grid worked on the orginal. After looking at the chip on this one I could tell the grid lines were just as worn as my orginal. to cheap to send it back so I will suck it up as a lost.

The screwdriver works perfectly. I don't recommend using the analog though, it does not work well. Get this just for the screwdriver
Malfunctioned at first use, did not come with the screwdriver. April 1 2012

First of all I have to say all I really needed from this item was the actual pad part of the control stick, but decided to replace the entire thing. I immediately noticed that the joystick was always detecting a down position. This made my character run straight back as if I was pushing the control stick down. I luckily had a screwdriver as well so the lack of screwdriver didn't affect this review, though they really shouldn't show a picture of a screwdriver if it doesn't come with one. My advice, just pay a little more and get a better quality repair part. This is not worth it.

Joystick on PSP is connected by a thin silicone strip that has very fine wires in it. If the cursor is floating randomly, the joystick may not be the issue. I would recommend purchasing the silicone connector along with the joystick and replace them as a pair. Very good price and product, very good value and it shipped quickly.
