I got my first one as a novelty. But then it was smashed by accident and I couldn't believe how much I missed it. It is to convenient to prep food and simply have this bowl next to me rather than travelling to the garbage can under the sink. Now I've got two ... one at one counter and one on the island. It's a little pricey but worth the convenience.

You won't believe what a pleasant surprise it was to find out that my old, used Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl fit right into my new Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl when it was time to throw it out!

How could I have ever lived without it? June 14 2012

Look at its beautiful craftsmanship. It's a thing of beauty. Some of your may be wondering what the point of it is, but let me tell you, before owning this bowl, I kept looking around my kitchen, desperate for a place to dump my scraps. Could I just use a regular $2 bowl for my garbage? I don't think so. This job necessitated spending $20 at the bare minimum on a genuine Rachel Ray piece of chinese plastic. No other receptacle would do for my fine collection of garbage. My garbage is special and it needs to know it. Every kitchen needs an expensive garbage bowl. My 4th vacation home in the Hamptons would feel incomplete without it.

LOVE this bowl Oct. 11 2012

Hesitated to buy this after reading some of the reviews, but longed for a replacement for my 40+ year old melamine bowl that finally gave out. I LOVE this bowl! I don't use it for garbage though, it's a perfect bowl for salads and general baking. Don't know if it can last 40 years, but love it so far.

UPDATE: So sad - my bowl developed a crack in it April 2013. Didn't make it any where near as long as I'd hoped.

Mine must be defective Dec 17 2013

I bought this thing to put garbage in, but for some reason my husband keeps using it to mix pancake batter in. How could he possibly be getting this confused with the other mixing bowls?

Buy 2 of them April 17 2014

Buy two or more of them. So when the first one breaks you can put it in the second one.
