Book Description

Rachel Webber knew her unexpected pregnancy was a blessing, but her joy was short-lived when her beloved family began to unravel. Not only were she and her husband, David, drifting further apart, but their impressionable teenage son seemed to be suffering most of all. Still, Rachel's enduring faith had always illuminated her life. And now, more than ever, she had to believe the good Lord would ease her aching heart--and bring hope back into all their lives. --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

4.0 out of 5 stars So much like her other book..., Aug 7 2011
By M. Palmer "Michelle P." - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rachel's Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
I did give this book four stars because the last hundred pages or such were pretty good and interesting...But Rachel really made me mad...She seemed to really be feeling sorry for herself at times, and very angry that David had moved out when she asked him to...What was he supposed to do? She declared more than once that David walked out on her, which wasn't the truth! I'm thinking that under the circumstances, he did the only thing he thought he COULD do!!!

There was a lot of unnecessary details in this chapter. At times, the dialogue seemed a bit clippy as well...But it was a really good story...

I was very impressed with Page's first Love Inspired book, "In Search of Her own." Her second book was good as well (Decidedly Married). But it was so simular to this book...a married couple with marriage problems and a baby that seems to make everything right again...If I had to choose between the two, I think I'd choose this one over the other though...

So, this was an "okay" book for the first 100 pages or so, and a pretty good read for the last 100 pages or so...

5.0 out of 5 stars Emotional divorce, Jun 3 2009
By Barbara L. Lemaster "Bibliophile" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rachel's Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
This book hit pretty close to home for me. The book is about Rachel and David, a married couple who live as roomates and are emotionally divorced from each other. David is close to getting romantically involved with a skanky coworker, but then Rachel announces that she's pregnant again. They already have a teenage son named Brian.

How Rachel and David overcome their differences and learn to love each other again is what drives the plot. It's not easy and the author doesn't give them easy answers. There's a strange subplot about their son becoming involved with drugs that doesn't seem suited to this book. A good read.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Baby on the way, Sep 5 2008
By Merry Reader "Sissy" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rachel's Hope (Mass Market Paperback)
'Pregnant? Rachel Webber was stunned by the news. She had a thirteen-year-old son-and never expected more. But the joy she felt for her unborn child was tempered by the realization that her husband might not share her happiness.
Lately, David had seemed distant. It was as if something had come between them in their once-perfect marriage. Yet as Rachel recalled the thrill of their son's birth-the tender closeness she and her husband had shared then-this mother-to-be knew God had sent her and David a priceless gift.
Would this blessed event restore their precious love...and make them a family again.?'
