One of the better radio adaptations of Agatha Christie's novels. Among the strong points are the fullness of the atmosphere surrounding the characters. In some of the adaptations the radio drama comes down to individual actors saying their lines without any sense of the location around them (i.e. bird sounds, leaves rustling, cars, etc.). This adaptation does a good job of filling out the world around the actors. The story is also well populated with a host of characters
Additionally this is a fine mystery with the proverbial Agatha Christie plot twists. It is our introduction to Miss Marple who after, Hercule POirot, was Ms. Christie's most popular character. What helps the story along is we are seeing much of the story through the eye of the Vicar whose vicarage the murder takes place in.
All in all good fun.
