Product Description

From Amazon.com

From the airwaves of "the mouse brand" on the AM dial into your home stereo comes a slice of Radio Disney's top cuts. Packaging the high-rotation hits of its very limited playlist, Radio Disney Jams, Vol. 3 is long on teen pop stars and--surprise!--short on substance. That won't make it any less satisfying for your precocious 7 year old who thinks Britney Spears ("Thinkin' About You") is pop music, or that Smash Mouth's "All Star" contains one of the catchiest rock lyrics to hit the mass medium of radio in a long time. With Destiny's Child's "Jumpin' Jumpin' (Party Mix)" and that wacky and annoying "Hampster Dance Song," plus The Vengaboys aerobic workout of "We Like to Party" and other cuts from Vitamin C, Myra, Nobody's Angel, BBMak, Tik 'n Tak, and even the ever-tasty blues-laced Radio Disney station ID (complete with snippets of their affected DJs), Jams Vol. 3 is proof again that contemporary pop music needs to grow up faster than the kids who are listening to it. --Martin Keller

4.0 out of 5 stars Good collection for young children, July 13 2002
By
Lady from KC (Kansas City, MO) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radio Disney: Kid Jams, Vol. 3 (Audio CD)
Most young children between 5-9 like pop music. Today's videos are too provocative, so my son doesn't get to see them. (I think they are for older kids anyway) The radio disney series offers many good pop songs that are not offensive. I highly recommend the whole series for this age group.

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than the other two!, Aug 21 2001
By
Erin Jackson (N. MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Radio Disney: Kid Jams, Vol. 3 (Audio CD)
This is good for the third series in Radio Disney. My most favorite song is Tik N' Tak's "Upside Down". My other favorite songs on here are "How Do I Feel", "All Star", Jumpin' Jumpin', "Don't Say You Love Me", "Vacation", "Dancing In the Street" and "If you Wanna Dance". The Hampster Dance song is the worst on the entire cd and is a very childish song. I also don't like "Thinking About You" by Britney Spears and it's definitely time for her to start making a new album soon. This CD is good and I can't wait until the Jams Vol. 4 CD comes out in September.

5.0 out of 5 stars How Can You Rate This Less Than 5?, Aug 18 2001

I love this CD, just love it. And it's not just for kids, it includes cleaned up versions of popular songs, so the overplayed are now somewhat different, the best tacks are: 1. Back Here/BBMAK- Beautiful song by the popular boy band from the U.K. One of my very favorite boy band song, and the only compliation to feature them! 2. Mamma Mia/A*Teens- My fav A*Teens song. Very simple, but the most powerful vocals and tune of any ABBA cover they've released. 3. All Star/Smash Mouth- Sure they're exploiting us. I still like the song. 4. How Do I Feel [The Burrito Song]- Buy it for this song alone- Hoku is the ultimate pop singer, about 7,000 times better than Britney! I love every part of the song, the lyrics, the melody, the funky Hawaiian sound- you'll love it! 5. Jumpin' Jumpin' [Party Mix]/Destiny's Child- Very different from the girls' release. This one has much cleaner lyrics, but the same tune. Great when you just need a break from the album version. 8. Thinkin' About You/Britney Spears- Not on any other CD except "Baby.. One More Time." I strongly dislike Britney, but this is one of her better songs. 10. Don't Say You Love Me/ M2M- Completely written by the Norweigan pop duo. Beautiful song dedicated to a guy trying to rush them into a relationship. Beautiful song. The other tracks are very overproduced and directed basically at the very young. "Dance With Me" by Debelah Morgan sounds completely wrong, the "Let's make love!" line of the chorus is replaced with "Let's Have Fun!" and it just doesn't gel. A good compliation featuring otherwise hard to find singles. I would have been happier if they would have included the Christina Aguilera "Come On Over/Ven Conmigo" mix, but there's always next time.
