5.0 out of 5 stars Up And Atom! Oct 19 2012
By Jonathan Balofsky - Published on Amazon.com

When Bongo comics first started, they published a few series including Radioactive Man, supposedly the actual comics from the Simpsons universe. The series didn't sell well but new stories have been coming every so often and it's very clear that this is a labor of love. So much work is put into the stories that unless you are a hardcore fan of comics, you will miss many references. But the thing is, that doesn't matter, the stories can still be read and enjoyed without a feeling of confusion. Parodying superhero comics from the 50's to the 90's, Radioactive man is also a loving tribute to these stories (well maybe not so loving for certain parts of the 90's). This collection itself is a takeoff of marvel's masterworks line and DC's archives ( it even has a two spoof intros which are cool to read). The book is sturdy and well-built and the stories are fun to read. After reading it once, I read it again a few times and took away something new each time. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Cool Aug 30 2012

I love the design of this book even if it is a nuisance to try to read it on the NYC subway. It wouldn't fit into my bag so I had to carry an extra bag just for it. The black cover underneath the jacket is very cool. Carrying such a heavy tome around was worth the effort for all of the gut busting laughs this book contains, not to mention the finger biting adventures (I don't mean fingernails either). Buy it right away or you will always regret it.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Composite Of Every Superhero April 22 2013
By SimpsonsFan99 - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I don't know how he did it, but Simpsons creator Matt Groening has managed to create a superhero who is all his own with the lightning bolt on his head who incorporates elements of all the other superheroes that have ever been created. There is the super-strength of Superman; the secret identity of Bruce "Batman" Wayne and Clark "Superman" Kent; the red costume of The Flash and Captain Marvel; radioactive powers of Spider-Man and The Hulk; and even the patriotism of Captain America. All of the stories that have appeared in Radioactive Man Comics are gloriously compiled in this great volume, which I have had to keep renewing at the public library until I can buy my own copy. However, one story, "Planet of the Strange-O's" (from Simpsons Comics), was needlessly deleted and should have been included in this book. All in all, the greatest volume from what I consider a non-Simpsons title by Mr. Groening. Now all Radioactive Man needs is his own TV show.
