Like a lot of people, I was blown away when OK Computer came out. Here was a band that was really taking rock to new places, throwing commercial caution to the winds like few others before.
Then at some point in my life, and for reasons I can't even begin to understand, I almost stopped buying or indeed listening to new music, content with my existing library.
Fast forward 12 years later. I heard of Radiohead again because of the social, environmental and animal rights work that they do, and I kept telling my wife I should be getting more of their music. She got me King of Limbs on the day it was released. I was in for a shock. Was this the same band? Puzzled, but still loving what I heard, I got In Rainbows... and was blown away again.
I just had to bridge that 10 year gap and understand how the band could have shifted so radically, so I looked for their other albums... and found this set.
For me this is the perfect box, since the only album I already owned is OK Computer. The set is only a fraction of the price of the individual albums, and finally gives me the complete picture- if there can be any such thing about one of the most thought-provoking bands of the last 2 decades.
Besides the studio albums, the live recordings is a great bonus. The paper packaging is amazing too and makes the set a great collector's choice.
I won't review the individual albums here as pretty much everything has been said already. This is definitely a must-own, exhilarating listening experience from on of the greatest bands of our time.
