4.0 out of 5 stars An Impovement Over Constrictor Feb 23 2003
Format:Audio CD
This was the album after Constrictor, and it's pretty much a Part 2 to that album. However, I find this one more enjoyable because it's darker lyrically and heavier musically. Yeah, it's still hair rock pretty much, but Alice really beefed up the heaviness this time around and some of it sounds like 80s thrash almost. The last song on the album is probably the best, and it's exactly the kind of song I can see King Diamond singing. This'll get a few folks angry, but I think this is a heavier album than Manowar's Fighting The World which came out the same year. Maybe that's only because of the production quality, who knows. Anyhow, it's a must have for the collection, but aren't they all? Plus, you gotta admit, it has the coolest looking cover of all his albums.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Alice Album Ever Oct 25 2005
By Jesse
Format:Audio CD
In my opinion this is by far the best Alice Cooper album ever bar none, even if you are not a fan of this album you still have to admit it's the best musicly. Kane Robert's is an amazing guitar player who is extremely underated too.

Alot of fans will say their favorate Alice album's are the older clasics because thats what got his name out there in the first place and had alot of the hits, some realy love the early 80's stuff (also known by some as the weird years) but I still think this one is the best. I love the lyrics especialy in The Gail Trilogy of Chop,Chop,Chop, Gail and of course my favorate Roses On White Lace. I mean how can you go wrong with lyrics like "

THEY'RE NEVER GONNA FIND YOUR FACE
IT'S HIDDEN AWAY
I FOUND A VERY SPECIAL PLACE WHERE YOU USED TO PLAY "

I think Alice's voice and the Alice charactor in general have always been at it's best when he is doing heavy stuff or slow and creppy stuff. Thats probably why my two favorate Alice albums are Raise Your Fist And Yell and Welcome To My Nightmare.

5.0 out of 5 stars From the darkest dungeon July 11 2004
Format:Audio CD
This album is worth the purchase. If your an Alice fan buy it! If your an 80's metal fan, buy it! I gaurantee you wont be disapointed at all. Each song is awesome and has it's own flavour. It's an improvement over "Constictor" the same way "Dragontown" is over "Brutal Planet". More elaborate, more range of vocals and music. Hearing this album makes you wish that you could be at the 87-88 tour. You'll love the brutality of "step on you", the fight-for-your-right aproach on "freedom" the tounge and cheek lyrics of "not that kind of love" as well as the gothic seriousness of "prince of darkness, and of course the classic Alice-like horror of "roses on white lace". You'll love the echo's that you hear from the backing vocals on chorus, pure 80's. But who cares if it's from 87. Buy it, turn it all the way up and enjoy. Let your livingroom become a dungeon of Halloweenish heavymetal for all the neighboors to hear.
