FROM THE ICE. . .

A mammoth, flash frozen in solid ice 10,000 years ago is brought to the surface by a team of scientists. An act of sabotage frees the giant from its icy tomb and reveals the secret held inside.

OUT OF THE MAMMOTH. . .

The body of an ancient woman, cloaked in furs, slides out of the mammoth's belly. But it is not the woman that holds the team's attention...it is the object she is clutching...a device created by an advanced civilization.

THE HUNT IS ON. . .

The device is accidentally activated, summoning forces who seek its destruction. It is the key to mankind's salvation and freedom from the men behind the curtain, pulling the strings and leading humanity towards destruction.

PRAISE FOR RAISING THE PAST

"Jeremy Robinson's novel RAISING THE PAST is a rollicking Arctic adventure that explores the origins of the human species. Written in a solid cinematic style, it starts with the excavation of a frozen mammoth in the wilds of the Canadian tundra and ends with a pitched battle for the future of mankind. A story not to be missed!" -- JAMES ROLLINS, BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF BLACK ORDER AND MAP OF BONES

"RAISING THE PAST by Jeremy Robinson is a taut thriller that zooms. It's a wonderful mix of prehistoric intrigue, a modern-day love story, and a futuristic conspiracy bound to envelop any reader. Highly recommended." -- JON F. MERZ, AUTHOR OF DANGER CLOSE AND THE LAWSON NOVELS

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible book alert!! Aug 19 2007
Format:Paperback
I'm a long time (40 year) fan/reader of science fiction. Bought this one on the basis of 3 five star reviews. Mistake. This is one bad book. The concept is good but the writing is a parody of the sci-fi thriller genre. (which would be ok if that's what the writer intended but.....). Example: an alien bad guy is wounded in snowy terrain and leaking purple blood is described as resembling ' a purple slushie'. Example: Dangers to be expected in travelling to the high arctic include 'polar bears and killer whales that can kill you in the the wink of an eye'.
Character development and sexuality is handled at about the level of a junior high school male and a socially inept one at that .
Who owns the publishing house that put this one out? A close relative of the author?
For all you aspiring writers, buy this book, read it carefully and never, ever, inflict similar dreck on an unsuspecting public.
I regret that the rating system insists on a minimum of one star. Where's the symbol for a galactic eclipse?

5.0 out of 5 stars A fast paced action novel Sep 30 2006
Format:Paperback
This is not my genre but I was so impressed with Didymus Contingency that I thought I would give this a try and I was not disappointed. Tons of suspense, action and amazing detail really made this book come alive. I will continue to read this author's work.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun, fun reading! Oct 11 2006
Format:Paperback
Another unique novel written by Robinson! I zipped through this fun read, caught up in the quirkiness of the characters and the goosebumpy surprises. From the moment the crew raised the mammoth from the ice to the gut-spilling climax, I had trouble putting this book down. Just what I needed to read after work to escape and relax! A fun, mildly romantic thriller laced with some science fiction. Buy it and enjoy!
