Book Description

May 28 2008
Twelve-year-old Azra Jessa wrote and illustrated this sweetly simple picture book when she was only eight years old, because she wanted to share her favorite holidays — Ramadhan and Eid-ul-Fitr — with her classmates. Children read about how the beginning and end of Ramadhan is based on the lunar calendar. They learn what it is like to fast for 30 days, along with the meaning behind and the motivation for the fast. Lastly, she explains what a typical Eid-ul-Fitr, the day after the month of Ramadhan, is like in her family. Charming computer illustrations complement this candid glimpse into a child's spiritual life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Book About Special Holidays May 29 2008
By tee jay - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
Written by a young girl, this book captures the true spirit of the holidays of Ramadhan and Eid-ul-Fitr! The illustrations would be very appealing to a child as they have been created by a child.
This book explains the special Muslim holidays from a child's perspective and would therefore be a valuable tool to be used in schools when studying different holidays from various cultures and religions!
I highly recommend this book!
The month of Ramadhan will begin in the year 2008 on September 3.
