1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible - Verbal diarrhea Sep 18 2012
Format:Hardcover
This book belongs in the garbage. The CD is read by a person with a speech impedement so your kid is not learning correct enunciation of words. The book does not use correct grammer, it misuses clauses and makes up words. I also detest violence against animals and in the story the queen gets mads and kicks the cat. Here is a quote from the book: "She is distremely angrified, hopping up and down, smashing teacups and crockeries and kicking the cat".
This book is terrible I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kids will love this story April 25 2011
By mona - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
I am appalled at the irresponsibility of Willy Claflin and the publishers. To treat imagination as though there are no bounds, to take the purity of the English language and treat it as though it were a toy to twist and turn: I am distremely snaggled by the whole business. And so much more as the laughter grew louder in the room of listeners!

A bald princess, and a prince who is so fat he can't climb a tower, dwarfs who charge admission for seeing the sleeping princess so they can quit their jobs in the mines, and on it goes. You'll be sorry when you come to the end of Rapunzel and the Seven Dwarfs, but then the CD that accompanies the book makes up for it, because the real Maynard Moose reads, and it is hilarious. This is perfect for a car ride, but you'll want to take the book along, because the illustrations are worth looking at again and again--they're simply beautiful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maynard Moose does it again! April 24 2011
By BAJ - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Hardcover
His newest story, shared with and told by Willy Claflin, surprised and delighted my 4th grade library classes as the language, voice, and details hit their funny bone and tweaked their sense of what "should be." It was great to watch their faces as they heard about Punzel and her "filthified" hair, the "eight or nine seven dwarfs," the "chubbified" prince, poison watermelon, and the mixing of several fairy tales. They loved the unexpected twists and turns, and at the end spontaneously said, "This should be on the list for the Chickadee Award" (Maine's annual book award voted on by children)! We will be filling out the nomination papers at our next class! Don't miss this new installment from the northern piney woods -- the story and pictures complement each other perfectly, and the accompanying CD brings Maynard's voice to life! Thanks for the treat!
5.0 out of 5 stars HIlarious Fractured Fairy Tale Jun 1 2013

Will Claflin is a master wordsmith, creating words that are fun to say. The prince's rescue of Repunzel does not go the way it does in the original fairy tale. Punzel ends up living with eight or nine of the Seven Dwarfs and more hilarious chaos ensues. This book is SO FUNNY, it is difficult to read aloud without becoming breathless from laughing and cloudy-eyed from mirthful crying . For ages 6 and above who already know the original "Rapunzel" and "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" stories.
