This review is from: Ratchet & Clank Future: A Crack In Time (Video Game)
If you're looking for some lighter fare from Insomniac, the talented developers of Resistance: Fall Of Man and its sequel Resistance 2, then you cannot go wrong with this Ratchet and Clank game.Pros: it looks pretty; it has a healthy dose of humor infused in an interesting enough story; the platforming/shooter/puzzle/space-shooter alternating episodes keep things fresh; it supports trophies, if you care for such things (whereas the first entry in the series on the PS3, Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction missed out on this notion, something that should've been addressed with a post-release patch); the plethora of weapons, and the variety of upgrades make the shooting portions of the game a lot more interesting, and add a lot more variety; good length, in an age when most games don't reach 10 hours; some voice-acting is awe-some. Cons: some voice-acting is aw-ful, grating, cringe-inducing; even playing it on hard, this game does not present much of a challenge (actually, this might be a pro or a con--individual taste and ability would decide this); enemy AI is not so intelligent, explaining the second complaint I had; at times (often enough), it feels like you're grinding just to improve your fighting chances in the next story sequence; some episodes require a lot of guessing as to the best tactic/weapon combination that will result in success--though infinite lives sure help mitigate this nuisance; some save issues on platforming sections will lead to annoying repetitions repetitions of gameplay. As I'm new to the series, the notion that this is a polished game with not much new or innovative is not something that made it into my Cons list--oh, wait. I guess it just did. Never mind. It's gone down in price, and it's definitely worth picking up.

Yet another classic game from the Insomniac developers who have given us time and time again great Ratchet & Clank titles. For those of you returning to the series, then you'll remember the platforming elements as ratchet but this time the game is split into two sections. The first will have you playing as Ratchet sans Clank but this is the mode you most remember from the past games, running around as Ratchet, shooting things with a large assortment of weapons. The second part of the game will have you playing as Clank, similar in style to one of the Secret Agent Clank games but with new time puzzles introduced as Clank learns about his past. One of the funnest new additions is the space flight mode which will have you actually using your spaceship to manually fly around the galaxy, no more automated loading screens from one world to the next. It's really fun as you end up upgrading your ship with different components as well, similar to what you do with the weapons on Ratchet. Overall the game is an absolute blast and really great for all ages. Adults don't shy away from this one just because of the cute looking characters!

Yet another ratchet and clank gem! A must have with lots of extras. Good replay value, extras become available after you complete it once. And you get a bonus if you have a Quest For Booty save too.
