I hadn't listened to Mystic Prophecy for about 8 years, since Never Ending came out. I wasn't too impressed with that release as it just didn't do anything for me so they kind of fell off of the radar for me... Well, fast forward to this week. I had bought a couple of other power metal discs and this one came up as recommended. Always willing to give a band another shot, I listened to the samples on here and was immediately hooked. The samples are great, but are mere teasers to how great this CD really is. There's a mix for just about every metal fan on this release, from melodic to death to speed. MP throws everything at you, usually all in one song, and it comes out as an unapologetic full force metal feast! The guitar playing is incredible, the vocalist has a great metal voice and throws in a few death growls to spice things up, the production is pristine, and the songs are out of this world!! Includes a cover of Ozzy's Miracle Man that can't be missed!!! If you like bands such as Testament, Primal Fear, Vicious Rumors and the like, you'll eat this up!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

This is a good album. Ravenlord in particular is a great tune; overall I'd say more than half the album is great. I like the singer's voice, very good power metal stylings. I also bought some of their older albums. They are not bad, but simply not as good as this one. This one is the one to get. If you're an headbanger like me, you won't regret this album. Really nice album cover art too.

i have to say it's true, this album does indeed kill on all levels. it's heavy, fast, melodic, and brutal. every track comes through with an undeniable energy and ferocity that is seldom seen on todays metal releases. there isn't one bad song or "skippable" track on this album. here you have a band firing on all cylinders and obviously taking the time to make sure that every song is a winner. the copy i have includes a bonus track called, "back with the storm". see if you can find a copy with this song added on it. it's another song that shouldn't be missed.
RAVENLORD is easily one of the best metal releases in the last 5 years. if you're a fan of power, classic, speed, or heavy metal, you should own this album.
