NOT ENOUGH PICTURES!,
By healthy_living (Quebec, Canada) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Raw Food Made Easy: For 1 or 2 People (Paperback)
My first impression when I opened the book was: how do you write a recipe book with so little pictures in them??? I was shocked. They are only 5-6 pictures in colors...the rest is just text...:(I am new to the whole raw foodism and it would have helped and been much more encouraging to see more pictures. This is my first time buying a cooking book that contains so little amount of pictures...its very disappointing. The recipes look nice but the lack of pictures is really making me rethink my purchase :(

Jennifer Cornbleet book: Raw Food Made Easy For 1 or 2 People is your guide to quick and easy and inexpensive meals that focus on fruits and vegetables. She provides quick references to all recipes (which are all easy to make and don't rely on obscure foods.) She will also teach you raw food preparation and how to plan menus that take more time planning than they do preparing. (In other words, her recipes are quick and easy to prepare:-)Here is just a sample of what Ms. Cornbleet will teach you. * How to make nut milks, creams, and luscious raw non-dairy cheeses * Crackers and other dehydrated goodies * Appetizers * Fruit smoothies * Soups, sauces, salad and dressings * Simple entrées * Wraps and rolls * Great desserts Jennifer Cornbleet is a graduate of Living Light Culinary Arts Institute, and a nationally recognized raw food chef and instructor. She will teach you that raw food cuisine can be intensely flavorful and pleasurable and fun.

Great for the newbie!,

This review is from: Raw Food Made Easy: For 1 or 2 People (Paperback)
Since the summer I have been transitioning to almost all raw foods, with the exception of the odd homemade soup or stew. I first started off with Ani Phyo's "Ani's Raw Food Kitchen" and a little while later with Cherie Soria's "The Raw Food Revolution" and while both of these recipe books are good, I was a little discouraged with the amount of work all this "uncooking" was. Then I picked up Jennifer Cornbleet's "Raw Food Made Easy" and I am so glad I did! Not only are the recipes simple and easy to prepare but all the dishes I've tried thus far are so yummy! I have tried about half of the recipes in this book. I love that Jennifer spells out everything for the newbie. Even on how to chop and use the equipment. I wish there were more entree selections, but there's enough here to get started and then "go with" to start to create your own dishes. To note: Jennifer does use avocado, nuts and seeds, though compared to other raw cookbooks, I don't think Jennifer's recipe to be overly high in fat, which is good.
