5.0 out of 5 stars Razer Does It Again Dec 10 2010
The BlackWidow Ultimate has finally been released. Razer has started shipping out this keyboard around the 7th of December. Initially announced around August 2010, the wait is now over and it was well worth the wait.

The BlackWidow Ultimate is a sleek looking keyboard. Upon unboxing this keyboard you'll be taken aback by the beautiful design. From the glossy backdrop to the matte keys, Razer has put a lot of effort into making this keyboard look very pleasing to the eye. One of the key features of the BlackWidow Ulimate is its backlit keys. Razer gives you five different settings for the backlit keys. From completely off to full brightness the keys can also alternate light like the usual lighting on their mouses. The backlit keyboard is a great feature as it allows you to easily see the keys if you enjoy gaming with the lights off.

The BlackWidow Ultimate is a mechanical keyboard. The keys are quite easy to press, but if you haven't used a mechanical keyboard before, you'll immediately notice a difference. One major thing to note is that typing on this keyboard is very loud. It is not distracting while gaming, but to give you an idea of how loud the keys are, let's just say you aren't going to get any sleep in a room with someone typing away on the BlackWidow Ultimate.

The BlackWidow Ultimate also gets dirty extremely quickly. Only hours after unboxing the keyboard it is filled with fingerprints and dust. Although the keyboard still looks great, and I personally do not mind fingerprints or dust, it's easy to see that the keyboard might require frequent cleaning to look its best.

The software provided by Razer will be familiar to anyone who has used one of their products. It's very simple to operate and configure the BlackWidow Ultimate to your needs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best keyboard for gaming Jan. 17 2011

I purchased this keyboard for christmas because my friend said its perfect for macroing. He was right! You can macro on the fly, which is perfect for Starcraft 2. The keys are very responsive and very slick. I love how there are 5 different light modes on it, changing them on the fly. Setting game profiles is really easy and switching between them without opening a program is perfect! I can go from WoW to SC2 to CS:S in seconds with the profile.

If your looking to buy a keyboard, i would recommend this one. I dont think i'll get another one until this one breaks which wont be for a long time. Razer is known for their quality products.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a great product Aug. 16 2012

I wasn't sure if this keyboard really worth the price it costs. I really wanted a good mechanical keyboard and I was not sure if I should buy a DAS keyboard or a Razer keyboard. I read some bad review on the Razer keyboard concerning the assembly quality but the fact the it has more features than the DAS keyboard made me buy it. I end up to be really happy with my purchase. The key press feelling is great and it is more easy to type than my old g110. The USB, microphone, speaker ports work all great.

I don't really agree with the bad reviews I read on that keyboard since it feels really durable and works flawlessly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pure awesomeness in a keyboard Sept. 16 2011
This keyboard is simply awesome. First of all the esthetic. it looks great like every razer product (razer fan here) but the backlighting works pretty well and i love the 4 modes ( 3 intensity + last mode that fade in and out the lighting). And also there is 1 usb port and headphones/microphone jacks on the side.

The keyboard is heavy and seems pretty solid. keys response are very fast and accurate, it's pretty easy and fast to set macros. I love the fact that you can set different profiles associated with games. You can set your macros and switch profiles without having to open the drivers software. Another great thing is the clicky sound while you're typing. Some people won't like this but you recently got served as razer released the stealth edition. Also has a "gaming mode" that i don't have explored alot yet but the thing i noticed yet is that it locks the windows key but not alt+F4 for example. I don't know if it's editable though.

The driver is very easy to use and the macro editor is really simple but useful.

If you're looking for THE gameing keyboard and are ready to pay the price definitely go for the blackwidow ultimate.

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing July 27 2012

This is hands down the best keyboard I'v ever used. The mechanical keys have a fantastic feel and almost everyone I know who used it can type faster on it. The back lighting is awesome for using in a low light situation and looks beautiful. The braided cable is rugged and durable as well the gold connections are a nice touch. I don't relay use the microphone and headphone jacks but the are well build and function very well and the weight of this keyboard keeps me from moving it around accidentally. The only thing I would have changed is making the secondary functions as well as the function key backlit as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Keyboard April 23 2011
By tpmears
One of the few Mechanical keyboard's available with back lighting, this keyboard is great. The key's are a joy to type on, I use a lot less hot keys now! The board is heavy and feels very rigid. The only drawback I have found is that the Caps Lock key does not have an indent on the right side so I find myself accidentally going into all caps occasionally while typing, which really is only a minor issue. I'd highly recommend this keyboard and definitely buy another one.

It looks cool. I will probably work for a while, but they don't last.
