All Style, No Substance., April 18 2012

I'm a huge SWTOR fan. (four lvl 50s) So the minute I saw this I wanted it. Had to order from Razer directly, and it arrived today. I must say it's a bit underwhelming.
Pros:
It's a gorgeous keyboard. From the LCD to the lighting and everything else.
The touch screen LCD is pretty neat. You can surf the web, watch videos, and etc all while in game.
Cons:
Feels cheaply made. Why not mechanical? It has good response times, but it just loses that feeling from a mechanical keyboard.
Macros/screen on the right side, another bad idea.
I have a hard time recommending this to anyone for the current asking price. ($250)
If you are looking for a good gaming board I recommend a BlackWidow.

Get it only if you want to experience the swithblade ui the first hand., April 27 2012

I got this keyboard directly from razerzone website, which now is under shortage of supply. I am a huge fan on custom keys, and bought this solely because its switchblade ui. Along with this keyboard, I have corsair k90(not fully-mechanical), and black widow ultimate, and Razer Nostromo.
Pros:Design
Led lighting, if you like the sort.
Switchblade ui.
Cons: not mechanical, no tactile feeling from the clicking.
The refresh rate of the LCD panel in display mode is low (i guess), which it can't sync the video and audio when watching a random youtube video.
The LCD portion of the switchblade ui is not customizable. Its functions are restricted by the apps designed for it. Such as turn into Number keypad, watch youtube, web,or trackpanel. You can't design fuctions for it, say if you want it to turn into keypad with custom keys rather than number keys, you can't.
As for LCD I haven't figure out how to turn it into in-game display, nor have I find the list showing which games are compatible with its in-game display (I have checked the website, perhpas not enough)
I like the idea of synopsis, I don't like the turn out much, I'd rather go with on-board memory for now.
Other thoughts: If you want a mechanical keyboard that is comfortable to type on, this may not be the one, you would want check out happy hacking keyboards, Filco majestouch, rosewill, they are known to be producing solid performances.
If you want mechanical keyboard that you can assign custom key and macros to, black widow ultimate is ok, I love typing on it. Corsair k90 has 18 custom keys on the side with 3 key map button on the top, it should be more than enough(note that the F keys, F1-F12 and function keys such as insert, home, end are not mechanical)
Nostromo are very good for custom key alone, driver is strong.
If you want try out customizable keys with custom displays, there are this one, RazerBlade, unitedkeys(probably discontinued, no driver for win7), optimus maximus keyboard has full OLED keyboard, costs alot.
If you are spending 250 for this keyboard for reasons other than the switchblade ui, I suggest get the other ones and save your money to upgrade on other gaming gears such as tiamat 7.1 and whatnot.

Disappointing, April 13 2012

I pre-ordered this back in December and was really excited when I was finally notified that it was shipping (just got it yesterday) and I have to say I was really underwhelmed.
Pros:
The multi-color led lighting that wraps around the keyboard is pretty cool, you can change the colors or set it to cycle.
The lcd track panel, honestly this is what initially sold me on the product and is by far the best thing about this keyboard. Works pretty well and has solid resolution.
The dynamic adaptive tactile keys are easy to set and use, program whatever sort of macro you like.
Cons:
The gold backlighting, it's kind of irritating when you see it in person (for me at least) and you can turn it off but can't change the color.
Lcd track panel, positives mentioned above and negative would be its not the best at streaming videos (still pretty cool though).
The rubber keys, if you're used to mechanical ones like me these just feel less responsive and cheaper.
The keyboard itself, it seems to be made of a cheap plastic and seems fragile. As expensive as this keyboard is I really expected more out of the construction.
The dynamic adaptive keys while easy to use don't function quite the way you expect (based on the pictures). The image isn't in the keys themselves (as they appear) so you won't see the image on top, instead the image is projected from a screen at the bottom of the keys and look a little off when viewed at an angle.
Finally, the keyboard requires you to use two USB slots to power it.
Summary:
The lcd track panel is a nice feature and there are some nice bells and whistles on this but as far as gaming keyboards go, it just isn't worth it unless you're a huge swtor fan and love the novelty of the track panel.
You're better off going with one of Razer's other gaming keyboards like their Lycosa or Black Widow, or with one of Logitech's.
