Amazon.ca Product Description

Adding a bit of spark to the original kick scooter, the Razor Spark has modified its A2 scooter with a foot controlled, detachable Spark Bar to light up your ride. The Spark Scooter's spark cartridge creates 20 percent more sparks than other brands on the market thanks to its 5 flint pads. A bonus spark cartridge is included. Light up your ride with the Razor Spark. The Razor Spark is built of aircraft-grade aluminum, a sturdy material that holds up to use and abuse through the years. Its T-tube and deck, meanwhile, fold up into a compact footprint, so riders can fit the scooter inside a bag or carry it at their side when riding isn't appropriate (it weighs 7 pounds/3 Kg). And thanks to the 98mm inline-style urethane wheels, ABEC 5 bearings, and patented rear fender brake, riders will always feel smooth and in control when kicking along the sidewalk.Recommended for ages 8 and older, the Razor Spark will support a rider up to 143 pounds/64 Kg.

1.0 out of 5 stars Cheap, lightweight. Not what they used to be. Oct 17 2012
Surely I may be older than the average demographic for Razor Scooters, but I bought this to replace a scooter i was using for over 5 years, as it was wearing out and didn't have a brake any more.

When I got this thing, I was disappointed to find how cheap and light the metal was compared to my old folding kick scooter. Handling sucks too. When going for tight turns, the front of the scooter would fly up and away from me, unlike my old one. Not safe.

Spark mechanism is relatively useless.

Wouldn't recommend unless for a really young child.

I bought this for my child as a birthday present and she just absolutely loves the sparks that fly behind the wheels. Really good value for money for the amount I paid for it. ($29 or thereabout)

4.0 out of 5 stars Razor Spark Scooter review May 16 2009

I enjoyed fast service and mint condition of product when it arrived. Product itself was not as described. Sparks were not as awesome as I thought they should be and the cartridges were used up faster than I expected. Also you can get a 2pk at Target for $10 and online the price is $20 plus shipping.
I like the scooter itself, the wheels seem more efficient with smoother ride than other scooters I have tried, but I don't think the "Sparks" aspect was really worth the $20 more I paid for it.

1.0 out of 5 stars expensive gimmick Oct 2 2009
By Carol Freedman - Published on Amazon.com

I purchased this for my grandson because he seemed to be excited about the TV commercial. Flames high behind the kid. I helped him put it together and we went out to see for ourselves. Wow, what a disappointment. He could have drug a chain behind him and achieved the same result. He played on it for less than 20 minutes and came in to tell me the "sparks" were gone. Sure enough, no sparks and time to change the sparkler box. I called about this and was told that if you use the brakes, the box will wear down quickly. Ahh, within 20 minutes? No, this was unacceptable. I sent it back and purchased a regular Razor scooter from a local dealer at a much lower price and no sparkler replacement to be purchased. My issue is not with the scooter itself just the ripoff gimmick of the sparks. The scooter is great and my grandson enjoys it a lot. I am saying--don't waste your money on the sparkler part. I notice there are no more ads for it lately. Does that say it for me?

1.0 out of 5 stars Broke the first day May 31 2009
By D. Daurelio - Published on Amazon.com
My son was so excited about getting the razor sparks scooter. The first days he got it, he was going down a slight incline and pushing down on the sparks when it broke off one side causing him to go out of control and crash. He was badly scraped on both arms and face. Luckily no broken bones. I called Razor customer service and sent them pictures of how the sparks mechanism broke. They said that the Razor scooter is NOT to be ridden down inclines. It is supposed to be ridden on flat ground only. They also said that the sparks "toy" is not supposed to be held down for long periods of time because it will break. My son still wants the scooter and Razor is sending replacement sparks, but I am not impressed with this product.
