specdamtacular,
By A Customer
This review is from: Real Time (Audio CD)
A remarkable outing from a living room harmony of voices and strings. O'Brien and Scott complement and play off each other, with driving numbers interrupted by a couple of gospel-like cuts. O'Brien's string mastery is well known, and he's at his best here. The driving guitar and banjo of Scott are a great counterpoint, and his singing ramps up the emotional charge. The pacing of the selections is great, and a prime argument for not chopping up an album into the best selections but letting the musicians' story over the album emerge. Can't get over how clean the sound is, especially for a living room recording. A specdamtacular cd that gets better with each play.

Best Album I Own,
By Michael Wall (Virginia Beach, VA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Real Time (Audio CD)
This is the best album I own. If you're reading this review you probably don't own it, so go out now and find it. Every track is unbelievably good, with the highlights being "Long Time Gone" (which the Dixie Chicks covered) and "With a Memory Like Mine." These two amazing songwriters combined their musical talents to record a great album. Don't miss out on it.

Ain't nothin' average about this CD,

This review is from: Real Time (Audio CD)
Unlike the previous reviewer, I feel this is a true classic. In my opinion this is the finest acoustic duo CD ever made. Someone else said check out Skaggs and Rice. I did, and it's great, but this album is a true masterpiece. Especially when you consider that 10 of the 12 tracks are originals. This is a true desert island album, and if you want to hear how vital and honest real music can be, pick up Real Time.
