5.0 out of 5 stars Is this the end of the Human Race, Jun 13 2006
By Travis Burke - Published on Amazon.com
Earthmen stumble out into interstellar space and almost immediately tangle with the Galactic bullies. All life on Earth is wiped out except for a handful of the space patrol. However none of the space patrol ships contain any female crew. So this is the end of the human race. Well maybe not. This is not the best book I have ever read but it certainly is my all time favorite.

5.0 out of 5 stars Tech and tactics, Jun 28 2011
By EBB - Published on Amazon.com
This book has an interesting approach to the physics of space travel and does a good job of integrating the tech and postulated physics consistently to space combat tactics.

Part of a memorable line: "we still have a Z".

5.0 out of 5 stars very good, clasic science fiction, May 7 2012

!!WARNING!! SPOILER AHEAD:

Earth has been irradiated by aliens who see Earth is a potential threat, and only a handfull of fighter pilots have managed to escape. Unfortunately, there are'nt any female pilots, which means within x years, the human race will no longer exist. Many years later, on an alien planet, a drugged out pilot is contacted by a long lost friend who tells him that if the remaining pilots get together, and start a war between two oppressive alien spiecies (one of which was responsible for the destruction of Earth) they will be given the location of several hundred females who were transported off Earth and hidden by a friendly, but oppressed alien spieces, before Earths destruction. The human pilots are given a masive, ancient alien ship which is in every way superior to the enemy aliens. the pilots go back to Earth, and retrieve the nuclear weapons, and laser weapons left in the factories. (Earth was NOT nuked. it was irradiated, so all the weapons, are useable but highly radioactive.) After a long battle, the humans win and, along with millions of slave aliens, escape to another time.( Along with the females of course) (Remember that the alien ships, (built by the Klee) are capable of time warping, and many other seamingly impossible feets) Earth by now is finaly showing signs of recovery. (A few mosses, and small plants, who's seeds were trapped in the ice have sprouted, and begun to reprenish the atmosphere.

The book is full of inventive technologies, and new words for such things as "warp", and "laser weapons" the new words are "null", and "rupter beams" respectivaly. the basis for the book is nothing new by our standards, but for its time it is well writen and thought out. And I think, personally that it's much better writen than most science-fiction books of today. An interesting book by any standards. (After starting the book, I couln't put it down until I had finished)
