Book Description

Sep 16 1999
Dudley’s second Robyn Devara mystery, The Red Heron continues Devara’s intriguingmisadventures. The poison in the ground and possibly in the water table of an environmentally sensitive wetland turns out to be the least of the crew’s worries as a sniper takes aim at Devara’s latest project. Sabotage turns into murder most bizarre when a dead man is found with a garden variety gnome and a pack of Polaroids.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be interesting, needs some work Dec 14 2012
I happened upon this book at the library. It's by a Canadian author and it caught
my interest because the mystery is based in Alberta (rich in oil reserves)and it
covers the problem of pesticides use and the environment. The book is all right,
I believe this is the second in a series. I wasn't overly impressed with the heroine's
"oh, poor me, always the loser" mentality. But it was interesting enough to finish.
There is some potential here but the heroine needs to be made more interesting somehow.
