Not as good as the Manor House Companion but worth having Oct. 23 2011
By Jill - Published on Amazon.com

Though I didn't care that much for this particular "House" program, I'm very interested in the Regency era and thought the companion book would be useful, as I'd found the Manor House companion book to be terrific. I found though that this book was not as informative about the Regency era in general as the Manor House companion book is about the Edwardian era in general. The Regency House Party companion book focuses more on the show, the participants and their experiences, which would be of high interest I should think to fans of the program. There is still enough general information about the Regency to please me, and the pictures are lovely, so I'm happy to have the book, especially for such a bargain price. I would like to have seen more stills of the interiors, and the work that went into transforming them back to the Regency period (did the owner keep some of the changes afterward?) as well as more descriptions of the costumes and how they came by them - some I gather are from past Jane Austen adaptations.

I found out alot more then what was aired on television. Miss Conick winning the Lottery and become the richest women at the party. Being a history buff learned alot more about the time period too!

Great book! Jan. 30 2013

I love this book because it has great insight into the world of the Regency. I very much enjoyed reading about how the team was able to recreate the style and feel of a country estate, from the decor to the food and even the well-trained staff.
