While the repeating patterns themselves are particularly nice, I was more excited by how the book also showed the base motifs that were used to build each pattern. It is surprising that such complex patterns can be derived from relatively simple shapes. The single motifs are clearly drawn, so one could bring them into design software and reproduce the original repeating pattern with almost no effort. And the clarity of the motifs creates opportunities to recolor and/or rearrange the motifs to build totally new patterns. This book and CD are well worth the cost.

There are many beautiful patterns in this book, and it is wonderful how they show the base pattern, in black and white, on the left page and the right page shows the pattern repeated and in various colors. If the pattern is composed of multiple elements then it shows the base elements on the left, separately, and the combo on the right page.There is a wide variety of patterns and I am very happy with this purchase!

The book and CD are great! My biggest disappointment is the cover says copyright-free images. Keep in mind only 150 images out of 1800 are copy right free. The others require written permission in order to use. Love everything else.
