Product Description

Review

Millions of Canadians have some Irish heritage yet many have scant knowledge of the connection. This book should find a ready market as they wake up to the urge to explore their Irish roots.

“Researching Your Irish Ancestors at Home and Abroad is an excellent research tool for those searching for information on an Irish background. Dr. David R. Elliott has given researchers a well-written, readable publication which explains in detail the intricacies for finding information pertaining to Irish ancestors.”

This book is a fine example of how one should up a research plan at home, and when abroad in Ireland.

About the Author

David R. Elliott is a retired professor of Canadian and European history and the author of three previous books. He has operated a genealogical research company, Kinfolk Finders, for ten years. As well as lecturing on Irish research, he has indexed Irish cemeteries, parish registers, and poor law union registers. Dr. Elliott is the past-chair of the London/Middlesex branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society and the vice-chair of the OGS Irish Special Interest Group. He lives in Parkhill, Ontario.

A 'DELICIOUS' READ: AS IN A MUST READ BOOK ON IRISH GENEALOGY! Nov. 21 2013
By Bridget Bray - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This a 'delicious' read as to mean: lots of great content, new research avenues and ideas, including maximizing your visit and experience while in Ireland. It's also a recent publication (2012) so information is up to date. I would highly recommend this to anyone researching their Irish ancestry.
