Product Description

Here is a completely updated edition of the best-selling Resolving Conflicts at Work. This definitive and comprehensive work provides a handy guide for resolving conflicts, miscommunications, and misunderstandings at work and outlines the authors’ eight strategies that show how the inevitable disputes and divisions in the workplace actually provide an opportunity for greater creativity, productivity, enhanced morale, and personal growth. This new edition includes current case studies that put the focus on leadership, management, and how organizations can design systems to change a culture of avoidance into a culture of creative conflict. The result is a more practical book for today’s companies and the people who work in them.

Really good book that I used in a conflict resolution grad class. The info is simple and easy to understand but still very helpful.

4.0 out of 5 stars Managing conflict, Mar 7 2012

I read this book for my HR class on managing conflict and change. The book was an interesting read as I was able to relate to the book and what it was saying. After reading the book I was better able to analyse, manage, and handle conflict. I did find that the book has one major weakness, a section of the book tells us to communicate freely our emotions with those who we are in conflict with in hopes that they would do the same. I find this to be a challange as we are not often truthful with our emotions, which can often be raw and unforgiving.I say this as I was in postion to say how really felt about a situation and found that even though I wanted to say how I really felt I coudnt express these emotions due to the boby language I was recieving from the individual. Overall I would reccomend this book not only professionals but also to everyday individuals to use in everyday situations.

The condition of this used book was acceptable. There were some markings, but nothing to prevent the reader from reading the book. I received it promptly.
