4.0 out of 5 stars Solid video; best for thoughtful group discussion, Oct 7 2009

Solid overview from N.T. Wright, just like his books. Interesting tidbits of information and a connective theme throughout the entire DVD. There's nothing exceptionally fantastic about this video, but it's really reliable, and aims to prioritize the content of what's being taught (stuff that is likely to be remembered over time), over flashy, glitzy entertainment (that would be more fun but ultimately a waste of time as soon as you walk away and forget). I like that he actually went to the ruins to aid our understanding through visuals (without letting the visuals overshadow any of his content). This video is unlikely to engage many who don't want to learn it in the first place, but I actually enjoy that it's not dumbing down the content to capture a greater audience--it's catering to the crowd who wants to learn.
