Book Description

June 15 2004 Redemption Series (Book 5)

A Deadly Diagnosis

In the fifth and final book in the Redemption series, plans are being made for a family reunion. Nearly all the adult Baxter children have a reason to celebrate—except one. As the preparations get under way, a deadly diagnosis sends shock waves through the Baxter family and threatens to tear them apart.

A Heartbreaking Secret

The reality of what might lie ahead brings each of the Baxters to a place of faith and honesty. In the process, Elizabeth and John come to grips with a secret they haven’t shared with anyone, a secret they rarely admit even to themselves. At the same time, a young man is making his rise in Hollywood and wondering about his place in life.

A Glorious Celebration

Amidst the threat of sorrow, the Baxters share in their most wonderful celebration of all—a moment to remember that love always wins out, no matter how long the struggle, a reminder that God reigns even in the darkest night.

A story of God’s grace and redemption, His victory even in the most difficult times.

From AudioFile

Sandra Burr's powerful narration portrays the Baxter family in the best and the worst of circumstances as the Redemption series comes to an end. Burr's characterizations are layered with such genuine emotion and depth that they give form and face to each character. From Elizabeth's battle with cancer to daughter Ashley's wedding to the bittersweet meeting of Elizabeth and movie star Dayne Matthews, the story depicts the foundation of it all--the love and devotion of John and Elizabeth for each other. Burr captures each character's intimate struggles, joys, and dependence on God to carry them through. This memorable story and Burr's excellent narrative skills will linger long in the listener's memory. 5.0 out of 5 stars Another wonderful book from Karen Kingsbury! July 6 2004
By Mandi
The first book of this series was my first Kingsbury book, I certainly won't stop with this series. I read this book on a road trip back home from visiting family, not a good idea since I didn't have any tissue on hand. Like many of her books you really should read it with a box of tissue at your side. I know it would have been difficult for me to read at home with two small children because it would have been very hard to put down
I really enjoyed the way that this book wrapped everything up while still leaving the door slightly open for her next two series'.
A definite must read in my book! But please start with the first book in the series!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Redemption Series(all 5) Oct. 18 2006
I just learned about Karen Kingbury books through my family members, who all read them, so i started out reading the Redemption Series, and i just got to say they are awsome books, loved them all!!I loved reading about the Baxter family, when reading the books you almost feel like you know them. The last book Reunion was the hardest to read, i couldn't stop crying.Although it made me happy that God answered Elizebeth's prayers in the end.I'am a true Karen Kingsbury fan now, and have read many more of her books, and have not yet been disappointed.I would recommend this series to anyone.
