My mother bought this book for my two boys when they were babies, and it quickly became the most beloved children's book they had. It was well used by the time my youngest took it over (and finished it off, lol), but I remember well those cozy evenings, post bath time, curled up on the couch reading stories. This was 'always' the book they chose, and every page we turned and word we read captured their full attention. Now, I'll be the grandma in a month's time, and just yesterday my son reminded me how much he loved this book as a child - how he'd love to have it for his son. We were talking by phone, while each of us was searching Amazon for this book. When we found it, we reminisced, I clicked on 'Look Inside' and started reading bits of stories. He still remembers them and got a bit choked up, actually. I'm so excited to now be the grandma, the one, who makes this timeless book a part of my new grandbaby's fondest memories.
