I loved every moment of Ripper Street. The characters were perfect, the setting was amazing, the script was excellent. I appreciated everything about it. It was interesting to see how the original choice for focus for this series was Jack the Ripper's Whitechapel with similar crimes being executed; but then the focus switched away from the Ripper to the crimes and the conditions of London at the time. The scope widened, politics entered, living conditions were explored, new inventions revealed. Every episode of the series had an issue to investigate with a view to the human condition not just a revelation of crimes and their violence. A great series.
