Do you believe in many roads to salvation?

When you think about establishing a relationship with God, what comes to mind?

Do you know what the Bible reveals on this subject? Notice what Jesus Christ Himself has to say: "No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day" (John 6:44)

God starts this relationship process and you must choose to accept or reject His calling when offered. If you accept, you have a definite process to follow that He clearly reveals in the Bible. What is that process?

1) After God calls you, repentance is the starting point in your relationship with Him. Without repentance, you are cut off from God.

2) After you repent, your next step is water baptism, a primary principle of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 6:1-2).

3) The next step on your road to eternal life is to receive God's Holy Spirit, which comes through "laying on of hands," as described in Hebrews 6:2.

If God is calling you, will you respond?

Inside the Bible Study aid ebook, The Road to Eternal Life, we will examine the Scriptures and look at the steps you must take to respond to God's calling. Start your journey on the only road to eternal life and be part of the awesome future God has planned for you!

Inside this Bible Study Aid ebook:

"The Bible describes repentance as a profound realization of our sins and resulting sorrow that leads us to change our thoughts and actions (2 Corinthians 7:10)."

"To some, the change God wants in us can appear so overwhelming that repentance and conversion to God's way of thinking seem impossible. And that's the point. Without God's help, they are impossible!"

"Overcoming our habitual sins and selfish nature does not happen instantly. It is a lifelong process, often involving great effort."

"The symbolic meaning of baptism, then, is profound. It represents both forgiveness of sins and newness of life in Christ."

"No matter what our background or past mistakes, when we genuinely repent and are baptized, God promises complete forgiveness."

"Living God's way must always remain our priority. We must continually "seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness" (Matthew 6:33)."

HASH(0x98e43288) out of 5 stars Armstrongite cult Dec 8 2015
By Robert Sparkman - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This publication was produced by a group associated with the teachings of Herbert Armstrong. Groups associated with Armstrongism include Restored Church of God, United Church of God, Philadelphia Church of God, and Living Church of God.

I was a member of an Armstrongite group for over ten years as a young Christian, so I am intimately familiar with their teachings. I am now attending an EFCA (Evangelical Free Churches of America) congregation.

Armstrongites should be considered a cult, and should be avoided. The two major reasons why they should be considered a cult are their “God family” doctrine and their “true church” or exclusivist position.

Their “God family” doctrine teaches that the redeemed become fully God in the resurrection, and will join the Godhead. In other words, there will be no difference between the redeemed, God the Father and Jesus Christ in terms of nature. They deny the personhood of the Holy Spirit.

Salvation, to them, is about proving themselves trustworthy to be given the full powers of Godhood. They are qualifying to rule as a God, ultimately over their own planet. They are Gods in embryonic form, to be "born again" at the resurrection. This view is very similar to Mormonism.

They deny the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, declaring it to be pagan. The reality is that their view is polytheistic, and thus pagan, as they assert that there are two separate god beings, God the Father and Jesus Christ. It is also a blasphemous view, as God is unique, uncreated, and alone worthy of worship. Claiming that the redeemed will join the Godhead is blasphemous. The redeemed reflect the character of God like a mirror reflects light, but they will never be the Light; only a mirror.

It is true that the redeemed are adopted children of God, but they turn this adoption into something that it is not.

Christianity teaches that God is one in terms of essence or being, and three in terms of Person. Armstrongism teaches that God is one in terms of family, and two in terms of Person. I suggest reading the book “Forgotten Trinity” by James White to understand the biblical nature of the Trinity doctrine, and to understand the problem with the “God Family” doctrine.

Armstrongites also claim their beliefs are true Christianity, and that the rest of Christianity is a “counterfeit Christianity” teaching a “false gospel” and that those outside of their organizations are unsaved and spiritually blind. They claim that other Christian leaders are “ministers of Satan”.

Their views, like the views of other cults, come from a conspiracy theory view of church history, mainly with the Roman Empire and the Roman Catholic church as the villains in their story.

Like most other cults, their leader Herbert Armstrong, claimed that God raised him up to restore true Christianity. He was a very contentious man. Following in his footsteps, modern-day Armstrongite teachers have a similarly contemptuous attitude toward other Christians and proclaim themselves to be the authorities on Scripture. In-house, they refer to their belief system as “the Truth” just like many cults do.
While their teachings sound biblical at a surface level, if you compare them with evangelical Christian doctrine, their distortion of Scripture is apparent. Their belief system largely rests upon taking Scriptures out of context, implying false contexts, unsound hermeneutics, and a faulty understanding of church history. They also create straw-men representations of Christian positions, which they represent as being what all Christians believe, and then seek to discredit them by refuting these straw men representations. While accusing others of taking things out of context and being wolves, they are the ones who are doing these very things. I have little doubt that most of them are deceived and don’t know that they themselves are practicing the things that they accuse others of doing, but false doctrine is false doctrine, regardless if they are deceived or not.

I would highly suggest avoiding them, and considering a sound, evangelical church such as EFCA (Evangelical Churches of America), CMA (Christian and Missionary Alliance) or a church associated with 9marks ministry. Each of these organizations has church finders online.
