OK, Robocop movie fans may not all love this, but I LOVED this series. I love Robocop films, but they are pretty much all the same. This one is a lot more fun. I'm a fan of parody, and pushing the edges a little. Hell, I've DONE parodies. "On the Air" is probably my favorite of all time. This series was clearly Robocop, with a little more tongue in cheek. The villians were goofy (Cray Z. Mallardo and Pud-faced Morgan- how goofy can you get?) , the pyrotechnics were great, and I loved Commander Cash. Richard Eden was one of the best Robos outside of Peter Weller, and he had a great sense of timing. The erie thing is how the series did a pretty good job of futurecasting. It's been 20 years, and a lot of the material is still fresh. I was a little disappointed there were no "making of" or commentaries, but considering I didn't have to watch it with Japanese subtitles, anymore, and the transfers were super, I am absolutely delighted. Why does Robocop and the Cybermen all sound like they use the same power stapler for sound effects?
