This is the first low rating I have ever done, but it is an honest one. I got the Rockwell saw for one particular purpose, to do mitre cuts on metal came for making frames for my stained glass projects. I figured if it did a fairly good job on this, I was way ahead as I had also intended to use it for other metal and especially wood projects, and put away my hand held jig saw that I have had for over 20 years.
Well, it did a horrible job of making these cuts....I needed clean, smooth 45 degree cuts and I never got them. They were rough and jagged. So I got some high quality Bosch blades thinking this would improve it some, but no dice. Then I got the special picture framing kit from Amazon and to my disbelief, the cuts were even more jagged and rough. So I returned the picture framing kit to Amazon (which went 100% well), returned my Bosch blades, and returned my Rockwell saw, and got the Gryphon mitre saw which was well worth the extra money as this makes perfect metal cuts. Before I retuned everything though, I did contact Rockwell and talked with one of their technical staff, and they admitted it doesn't cut metal that well for framing purposes. I wish I knew this before I wasted all of that time thinking it would be effective.
