Product Description

From Amazon.com

The third installment in the Rocky saga is the last one to matter, and in this case only marginally. The now rich and famous Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) triumphantly pummels a succession of boxing challengers until he encounters Clubber Lang (Mr. T), a human wall of brick who wants a piece of Rocky's action. The Rock's loyal trainer Mickey (Burgess Meredith) has taken ill and dies, so Rocky recruits retired opponent Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers) to whip him into fighting shape after his embarrassing defeat to Clubber. Time for another rematch, mixed in with some family matters involving Rocky's brother-in-law Paulie (Burt Young), who's feeling neglected amid all the hoopla. Not bad as sequels go, boosted by Mr. T.'s taunting presence and yet another rousing finale. For those with a bad case of '80s nostalgia, the hit theme song "Eye of the Tiger" is sure to bring back memories. --Jeff Shannon

4.0 out of 5 stars 2nd sequel in Rocky series (3.5/5), Oct 6 2007

This review is from: Rocky III (DVD)
Rocky 3 is not a bad movie,as far as the series goes.it has lots of
action, some good training sequences and some dramatic moments.however
it lacks something that the first 2 have.and that is heart.it just
doesn't have the depth of character or story that they have.this is not a tangible
thing,but more a feeling.if you watch Rocky 3,you will understand.the
antagonist,(villain)Clubber Lang,Rocky's rival,is fairly strong as
portrayed by Mr.T.though i get the sense this movie was made just to
keep the franchise going.I say this because if you watch the next
installment,Rocky 4,you will notice there is more intent to the whole
movie. The antagonist is much more developed and there is more at
stake.there are actually 2 antagonists and you will understand if you
watch the movie.anyway, back to 3.the filmmakers could have done
without this installment and went right to 4.as for Rocky 3-- 3.5/5

4.0 out of 5 stars "The Eye Of The Tiger", Sep 7 2007

This review is from: Rocky III (Widescreen) (DVD)
INTRO:Rocky III is famous for two reasons,it has Mr.T in it and the "Eye Of The Tiger" hit song from the band Survivor featured in the movie. The third film in the Rocky franchise is a lot different then the first two,who were similiar in many ways, and it pushes the serie in a different direction.Rocky himself changed a lot in this third movie and experiences difficulties being who he was again, and with help of former World Heavyweight Champion Apollo Creed he seeks to regains the "Eye Of The Tiger".

STORYLINE:After defeating Appolo Creed in Rocky II and being the Champ,Rocky enjoys much succes in and outside the ring until a new challenger,Clubber Lang(great performence by Mr.T)challenges him for his title. His trainer,Mickey(Burgess Meredith)feared that Rocky might loose the title and admits that his matches were chosen by him in order for him to keep the title and his oponents despite good were not the caliber of Clubber. As Rocky fights Clubber,Mickey dies. After loosing the title to Clubber, old oponent Apollo Creed trains Rocky in a classic fashion "montage" to beat Clubber and regain the belt and most importantly the "Eye Of The Tiger" he lost.It won`t be easy as Rocky abandons himself and lost sight of who he is...

REVIEW:Rocky III is a weaker movie compared to some of the others in the serie but still stands up well.As a fan of the series i like it even if i gave it three stars but its not up to the first two movies unfortunatly,i think its because in this one,Rocky is not Rocky he doesn`t know who he is and doesn`t beleve in anything anymore, whereas in the other movies he`s his comftable self, doing silly jokes and a nice guy in the neighboorhood. He now is rich, lives in a huge house and appears in commercials, advertisements and lost his old simple self. The storyline is great but has a few bad parts like the ending fight is probably the worst fight in the Rocky serie,he just pulverizes Clubber Lang in 3 rounds and that wasn`t a great fight. That match was just one sided mostly and not long enough, had it been longer it would have been better.Has some good and bad parts but a good movie really.Hulk Hogan makes an great appearance as Thunderlips,a wrestler and Mr.T is fabulous as Clubber Lang.
Rocky III is also famous for having the great song "Eye Of The Tiger" in it,its a good catchy song that might stick in your heard for a few days.

OVERRAL:3 and half stars, good but not up to some of the other movies in the serie.I don`t have anything left to say,is said all i had to its good,if you like Rocky, this should please you.
