1.0 out of 5 stars Boy meets girl, boy regains faith, Mar 15 2009
By Barbara L. Lemaster "Bibliophile" - Published on Amazon.com
This review is from: Rocky Mountain Miracle (Mass Market Paperback)
This is the most insipid romance I've read yet. Teenage sweethearts reunite after a decade plus, but one has completely lost faith. Thrown together as camp counselors again, they face the wrath of nature and, expectedly, the prodigal son comes home.

The biggest problem I had with this book is that the author makes reference to situations that are referred to by the characters as miracles. A miracle is an act of God; by definition, a miracle has characteristics that cannot be explained by natural laws, natural forces, or anything else in the physical universe. The problem is that the situations themselves aren't miraculous; they could be classified as divine providence or amazing coincidence, but they're nothing like the miracles of the Bible.

The second problem I had with this book is the introduction of a juvenile delinquent named Randy, who is an accomplished lock picker and thief, despite being only 10 years old. He is easily the most annoying character in the book and I fervently wished someone would have not spared the rod and spoiled the child. This kid needed a good smack or two.

The ending is more sadly predictable than those of the other Love Inspired books I've read.

This is a very good book, and well worth reading. If you like Christian fiction, this is for you.
