Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino play ditzy best friends who decide to attend their 10-year high school reunion, but they completely make over their styles and identities first in order to impress the people who tormented them. The two stars keep Romy and Michele's High School Reunion going despite various lapses and potholes in David Mirkin's direction and despite a sneaking sense that the idea can't sustain the length of an entire feature. A midsection dream sequence underscores the latter problem through blatant padding, but Sorvino and Kudrow--both of whom became established stars playing airheads on other projects--are worth the weaknesses. --Tom Keogh
The price was excellent, the shipping charges were acceptable, it was shipped quite quickly and arrived on time, however, the movie will not play because it says it will only play in certain regions, like Japan or Australia, not in Canada, where I reside.
Wassup this movie is master genious of the comedy. How can a movie reminisce the 80's without getting to much into cliches, well watch "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" and u will find out how, this movie has it all, fun, great comedy, great jokes, and superb actings by Lisa Kudrow and Mira Sorvino, a classic and a guilty pleasure.
Romy and Michele make such engaging and wonderful couple, they carry the movie very smoothly to the end. They are almost genious. The plot is simple, the characters are stereotypical and the events are somewhat perdictable. So what? They don't make the movie any worse but even better. You don't need complicated storyline and supernatural heroes to make a good movie. Romy and Michele's straight-forward characters not only entertain the audience but give us deeper lessons and feelings, too. You don't have to be ashamed of who you are but be yourself and face your problems no matter how others may judge you. Their courage gets rewarded and there are emotional instances when they realize that there are other important things in life than career and money. You get the sense of life that it is not worth living if you are not going to have fun anyway.
