This two disc DVD set is a great buy. Both the opera and the support material "The Making of Barber", are excellent. The acting and singing of all the players was outstanding but particularly Juan Diego's as the Count. The black and white stage settings and costumes that eventually became colourful as the comedy resolved itself are an added dimension. Very funny, entertaining opera and an excellent insight into the production of an opera in the extra DVD I have seen 4 other very good DVD productions of this opera and this is by far the best.

The staging and transition from monochrome to colour in the sets and costumes make this performance a real visual pleasure and the quality of the singing is superb.
