The 2008 edition of "The Rough Guide to Britain" is the definitive planning guide for those intending a vacation that takes in England, Wales, and Scotland (Ireland, including Northern Ireland, is covered in a separate Rough Guide). In a compact 1,000 page format, this Rough Guide offers choices and lots of them, along with information on when and how to get there.Britain has much to entertain the visitor, from cosmopolitan London to cathedral towns and grand homes to the wilderness areas of northern Scotland and central Wales. Several thousand years of well-preserved history are on display in a variety of museums, while the major cities offer the lastest in culture and shopping. There is something for almost everyone.
